Hi guys, so the following is my tips and tricks  for having the most enjoyable time at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando. First I will give you guys a small overview of what the event is and the target groups!

What is Halloween Horror Nights?

It is an annual event that occurs at Universal Studios FloridaUniversal Studios Hollywood Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Japan. Universal Studios remains operational during the day and transitions to Halloween Horror Nights at night. The event features haunted houses, “scare zones” and live entertainments; many of which utilize Universal’s characters and other licenses.

Is the event for kids?

No way, this event is in no way intended for kids. Teens may be able to handle this event but anybody who is scared easily or may not like being completely immersed in a real life horror movie..this might not be the event for you!!

Universal does a fantastic job of transforming the park into your worst nightmare that has come to life! Even before you walk into the park, you can hear the ominous soundtrack playing, almost guaranteeing that something bad is about to happen. Once you walk in through the gates and down the main street, a group of evil creatures are there to greet you personally. Do you dare head toward the smoke looming in the distance, especially with creatures waiting for you along the way?

Here are tips for Halloween Horror Nights:

1. Buy tickets in advance (Halloween Horror Nights requires a separate ticket from regular theme park admission). You will save money, and you won’t have to wait in line to buy tickets. We’re offering the Halloween Horror Nights plus 2 Day Park-to-Park ticket at a savings of $68 off of gate prices.

Halloween Horror Nights Sign at Seuss Landing at Universal Orlando2. Get to the park early! If you’ve spent the day at Islands of Adventure, you can take a short cut over to Universal Studios starting at 5:45 p.m. from Seuss Landing. If not, try to get to the park before 6:30. Universal Resort guests have a dedicated line from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the right side of the entrance.

2. Leave your costumes and masks at home. Universal won’t let you in with them.

3. Take only the necessities with you to make getting through security a snap: your phone, a credit card, tickets, ID and camera. You will be asked to remove everything — and we mean everything — from your pockets! Expect security to go through your bags thoroughly.

4. Eat dinner before you go. Lines for food (and alcohol) aren’t terribly long, but the lines to the houses and attractions are! Fuel up before you leave, and you can spend more time getting the daylights scared out of you.

5. If you want to avoid the street creatures, although we can’t imagine why you’d want to, they largely stick to the streets and leave guests on the sidewalks alone.

6. If you want to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit or Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, do them first. Because they are close to the entrance and are the most popular attractions, they will see considerable traffic. If you don’t mind potentially riding separately from your party, the singles line on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will go much quicker than the regular queue.

The following video may give you some idea what to expect when the gates first open at the event in early evening around 6pm or so! Enjoy and make sure to check back for more HHN tips and tricks and HHN 24 news!

On select nights September 19 – November 1, your worst nightmares will take shape as Universal Studios Florida® theme park is transformed into the award-winning Halloween Horror Nights®. See if you can survive all-new haunted houses, spine-chilling street experiences, outrageous live shows, and more. Halloween Horror Nights annually draws hundreds of thousands of horror fans from around the globe. Tony Timpone, Editor of Fangoria Magazine, said, “After visiting scream parks all across the U.S. for the last 20 years, I can easily say that Universal’s is the best in the business… Halloween Horror Nights is the ultimate Halloween experience.”

After rave reviews from fans, Universal Orlando Resort is bringing back AMC’s “The Walking Dead” to Halloween Horror Nights for an unprecedented third consecutive year. Horror-hungry fans will experience an all-new terrifying maze inspired by Season 4 of the critically-acclaimed, Emmy Award®-winning television series.

This year’s bone-chilling maze will place guests at the heart of a harrowing journey to seek sanctuary at Terminus, an elusive destination that promises community for all. Mirroring the terror that befell the residents of the West Georgia Correctional Facility, now overrun by savage walkers, the experience will send guests fleeing from the fallen prison into unknown territory as they once again stage a desperate battle for survival against flesh-eating walkers and ruthless humans.

“The Walking Dead” is based on the graphic novel written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. The series tells the story of the months and years after a zombie apocalypse.  It follows a group of survivors, led by sheriff Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. “The Walking Dead” is the number-one show on television for adults 18-49.  AMC’s “The Walking Dead” returns for Season 5 this October.

“This has been an incredible collaboration and I am thrilled to be working once again with the creative teams at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood to bring the world of ‘The Walking Dead’ to our dedicated fans,” said Greg Nicotero, Executive Producer and Special Effect Makeup Supervisor for the series.  “I can’t wait for visitors to experience first-hand some of the iconic moments from Season 4 in what will be the biggest, most exciting and frightening ‘Walking Dead’ maze to date.”

Check out what our good friend UKHHN, who is the world’s number 1 HHN updater had to say about the news of The Walking Dead’s return this Halloween…

Universal Orlando’s maze will be the largest maze ever created at Halloween Horror Nights. It is literally double the experience and will feature more scareactors in one single haunted house than ever before. Guests will encounter iconic scenes from Season 4 of the hit show – beginning at the prison, fans will enter the cell block where the infection began, escape into the massive Big Spot location with a crashed helicopter ripping through its ceiling and journey to the dilapidated country club overrun with walkers. These and other incredibly immersive environments culminate to the maze’s finale taking you to the End of the Line – Terminus. This year’s maze will be an entirely new experience, featuring never-before-seen walkers and brand new scares.

“Bringing a horror property back for a third year in a row is always a decision that is carefully considered. Fortunately, The Walking Dead is unlike any horror brand around. Its appeal spreads across so many types of viewers. Hardcore and casual horror fans alike are watching week after week, and season 4 offered many new and unique environments and walkers,” said Michael Aiello, Creative Development Director  for Universal Orlando’s Entertainment team. “This year, we are taking this partnership to the next level, with a monstrous soundstage maze and a scope that is bigger and badder than anything we’ve ever done in the history of our event.”

Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” events have a more than 20-year history of creating incredibly entertaining, horrifying Halloween experiences that are consistently rated the nation’s best. The event features highly-themed, disturbingly real, haunted mazes based on everything from films to nightmares – and streets filled with hundreds of specially trained “scareactors.”
