RLJ/Image Entertainment’s The Houses October Built is getting a limited theatrical run on October 10th, and right now we have a new trailer.Houses October Built

From the Press Release:
Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment brand, has acquired the North American rights to the haunted house thriller THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT, produced by Steven Schneider (Insidious, Paranormal Activity) and Zack Andrews.

The film is directed by Bobby Roe and stars Brandy Schaefer, Zack Andrews, Bobby Roe, Mikey Roe, and Jeff Larson. The deal was announced by Image Entertainment’s SVP of Acquisitions, Mark Ward.

“THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT is an instant Halloween classic,” said Ward. “This is a film that audiences will seek out year after year – and will be just as terrified each time they watch it.”

THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT takes you where no other Halloween film has gone before. Beneath the fake blood and cheap masks of countless haunted house attractions across the country, there are whispers of truly terrifying alternatives. Looking to find an authentic, blood-curdling good fright for Halloween, five friends set off on a road trip in an RV to track down these underground Haunts. Just when their search seems to reach a dead end, strange and disturbing things start happening, and it becomes clear that the Haunt has come to them…

“We found out that over 35 million people go to Halloween Haunts each year,” said writer/director Bobby Roe, “but out of all the horror films out there, no one has touched on these places. It’s untapped. So we decided to tell a story centered around the holiday and set it in the world of Halloween Haunted Houses.”

The Houses October Built will premiere in October in ten markets, including New York and Los Angeles.

The following is an overview of the Halloween Horror Nights Orlando event this year! It’s the 24th year running and this years event hosts some major names for the mazes. The following days I will release more information on the event and my need to know advice for it.

Travel with Michael Myers as he begins Haddonfield’s historic night of horrors. You will find yourself racing to get ahead of Michael’s murderous knife as he slashes at his victims and you. Guests will be placed in the depths of Michael Meyer’s personal hell as they try and escape his nightmare.

The Walking Dead: End of the Line

This year’s bone-chilling maze will be the largest maze ever created at Halloween Horror Nights and will place guests at the heart of a harrowing journey to seek sanctuary at Terminus, an elusive destination that promises community for all. Mirroring the terror that befell the residents of the West Georgia Correctional Facility, now overrun by savage walkers, the experience will send guests fleeing from the fallen prison into unknown territory as they once again stage a desperate battle for survival against flesh-eating walkers and ruthless humans.

Alien vs Predator

In collaboration with 20th Century Fox, Halloween Horror Nights will pit the Xenomorph species against the predators in an epic battle and you’re caught right in the middle. Follow the journey as these two ancient species fight for survival and dominance in the ultimate battle of Alien vs. Predator.

From Dusk Til Dawn

Inside this remote biker bar, chaos reigns as guests discover what lies beneath its neon lit façade — an ancient race of blood thirsty vampires. Based on the hit El Rey Network series, this labyrinth of death will leave guests “drained.”

Dracula Untold: Reign of Blood

Guests will witness the harrowing transformation of Vlad the Impaler to the monstrous Dracula. We know how the story ends, but what terrifying blood drenched journey brought Vlad into the darkness that is Dracula? This is it — every visceral and feral scare will grab guests by the jugular.

Dollhouse of the Damned

Dollhouse of the Damned will terrify guests with its original characters and visually unsettling environments. Within its decaying walls lay the remnants of an old evil. The devious denizens of the house pull apart and remake the unfortunate souls that stumble through the doorway of the Dollhouse, as they become the Damned that will never escape.

Evil clowns are not born…they are made. People are stretched, smashed, and eviscerated. Faces are peeled off, voice boxes are torn out, and bodies are stuffed with…other bodies.

Roanoke: Cannibal Colony

Guests will walk into the actual settlement of Roanoke and experience the terror of a community in cannibalistic turmoil. The cannibalistic colonists attack any fresh meat that stumbles near them. Join the colonists in the destruction and carnage by cleansing fire and gnashing of teeth.

Another quick video from Halloween Horror Nights 23 guys! Some great stuff coming soon!

Stay Tuned!

AMC’s The Walking Dead returns to Halloween Horror Nights. Fans will have a chance to walk in the footsteps of human survivors as Universal debuts an all-new terrifying maze inspired by Season 3 of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning television series.

The eerily authentic and disturbingly real maze will place you at the heart of the show’s once impenetrable prison, the West Georgia Correctional Facility, now overrun by hordes of flesh-eating walkers. Then, cower through the walker-infested wilderness that surrounds the prison and into town of Woodbury, where gruesome secrets are concealed.

The Walking Dead are back not only in the streets this year, but also in another house. A fairly elaborate outdoor facade that features the arena, complete with the bleachers to watch the action and walkers on chains who are ready to fight (and bite), welcomes you to Woodbury.

This year’s house allows you to revisit some of the more memorable scenes (The Governor’s wall of walker heads in fish tanks, the prison cell block) from this season. (There’s also a guest activated scare. If you hear the phone ringing, pick it up… you never know who might be calling.) I think this house will be a hit with fans of the show, and I think in contrast to the streets, there is enough going on here to appease those who aren’t.

I really enjoyed this house so much as I am a huge Walking Dead fan but I hope that when I return to Halloween Horror Nights next year we aren’t treated to another version of the Walking Dead for at least another 2 seasons of the show. Overall awesome house!
