20th Century Fox has pushed the Matt Reeves-directed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes to a July 18, 2014, release date, two months later than originally planned. In the flick… “A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.” Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer and Jocko Sims star.

On top of that Fox has announced a 2015 release window for the long talked about Independence Day 2, the sequel to Roland Emmerich’s box office smash from 1996 starring Will Smith. No exact date was specified, but it’s pretty much a given that the flick will be released on or around July 4th.

Stay tuned.
